In the Miss Universe pageant, the candidates of Israel and Lebanon appeared together in a "selfie" on Sunday. In addition to the indignation aroused by the Lebanese, the episode already runned the world and is leading diplomatic issues, since their home countries are in conflict.

In 1982, Israel invaded southern Lebanon and, more recently, there was another conflict in 2006 between the Lebanese movement Hezbollah and Israel. The war lasts for decades. In Lebanon, the contact with Israelis is even illegal.

"Since I arrived in Miami I was extremely careful not to appear in pictures or communicate with Miss Israel", said the Lebanese Saly Greige, on her Facebook page.

But the Israeli Doron Matalon did not share the same purpose. The moment Greige was with the Japanese and Slovenian candidate, Matalon came and took a "selfie" with her camera. This went soon to Instagram got shared by thousands. Network users comment for and against the young beauty.

"I'm not surprised, but it saddens me. It's a shame that we can not put aside hostilities", wrote the Israeli on Facebook, lamenting the controversy.
