According to TMZ, Lindsay Lohan has been hospitalized with joint pain and fever after contracting a rare virus.
The symptoms are caused by a rare and incurable virus contracted by her during her vacations in December at Bora Bora, in French Polynesia.
Lindsay has been released but the symptoms continue. The virus contracted by her is called Chikungunya, and is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the same that causes dengue.
The good news is that the risk of death by the hands of this virus is less than 1%. Also, most of the times this kind of virus takes 6 months to 1 year to disappear.
