Why I'm Breaking Up With Google Glass - By Mashable

This is such a good explanation why Google Glass didn't rock the market like it was "supposed" to, that we decided to quote Mashable post (at least the most important on it):

Dear Google Glass,

I think we need to break up.

It’s not you — well, it is a little bit you — it’s me. I just can’t handle the looks and stares. I mean, it pains me to say this, but you embarrass me.

I don’t know exactly when you passed from being cool to being weird, but the transition is complete.

Please don’t think that I have something against wearable technology, because I don’t. I still believe what I told the Today show team in 2013: “Wearable technology is the future.” But, Google Glass, you’ve always lacked the subtlety and fashion sense I require in anything I put on my body.

I know you’re having a tough week. That Reuters report was brutal. So many admirers walking away or, at least, putting some distance between you and them. I’m not a developer, so we never had that sort of relationship. I don’t know how hard or easy it is to make something for you.

From where I stand, though, it looks like your interface has much in common with Google Now on Android 5.0 "Lollipop," which is appearing on more and more mobile devices. In other words, it’s not the difficulty of the task that’s driving them away.

Google Glass, you’re really not an average people device. I mean, other than journalists, media types and early adopters, I never saw an average person wearing you. For a while, this made our relationship feel special. Now, though, it makes me feel odd.
