Maria Cozma from the Moldovan capital Chisinau caused a social media frenzy when she posted a picture of herself posing in a bikini on to her Twitter timeline.
The granddaughter of the country’s President of the Supreme Justice Court was recently made judge in the capital’s main criminal court, the Centru Court.
Now the brunette, 27, has come in for criticism from more conservative elements in the country.
A spokesman for the society of judges said: "We are supposed to be a respected and serious body, not titillation for criminals and the Twitterrati.
"Unfortunately, because of who her family is, there’s not much we can do. But I strongly urge other female judges to not follow her example."
