Putty stores its settings in the Windows registry. To save a backup of your Putty settings, you'll need to export this registry key to a file and import it whenever you wish to use it.

The Windows Registry key associated with putty is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham

1. Run the regedit command

2. Browse through the Registry Tree (left side) or Ctrl+f and find Simon Tatham
Or

3. Right Click on the Simon Tatham key and select Export. Save it as a .reg file.

4. Now you just have to copy that file to the machine in which you wish to have your configuration, double click on it and accept the changes to registry.
